Fendi Baguette sizes

Silvia Venturini Fendi designed the Baguette in 1997 (V Magazine). It takes its name from the French loaf (Marie Claire); Fendi cites French bread, traditionally carried under the arm, as its inspiration (V Magazine). Carrie Bradshaw carried one in Sex and the City, and Marie Claire calls it the first bag to claim the title of “It bag”; Sarah Jessica Parker said that “the Baguette opened the floodgates” (Marie Claire). By 2012 it had appeared in more than 1,000 variations (Marie Claire), and FashionNetwork, citing the Financial Times, puts sales of the original above one million units (FashionNetwork). Fendi relaunched it in 2019 in several sizes, with detachable shoulder straps and a crossbody version (Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia). In September 2022 Fendi opened New York Fashion Week with a show celebrating the Baguette, 25 years after it became a fashion staple, for which Kim Jones worked with Marc Jacobs and Tiffany & Co. (AFP, via eNCA). For Fall/Winter 2026-27, her first collection for Fendi, Maria Grazia Chiuri returned it to its original silhouette and style code, 26424 (V Magazine).
