The story of the Jodie
The Jodie belongs to the Daniel Lee years at Bottega Veneta. Lee arrived at the house in July 2018 (Business of Fashion), and in November 2021 Harper’s Bazaar reported that the house was parting ways with him after three years (Harper’s Bazaar Singapore). Vogue’s review of his bags lists the Jodie under autumn/winter 2020 (Vogue Hong Kong). Bottega Veneta describes it as a rounded bag in soft leather with a top handle, the Intrecciato weave and the house’s emblematic Knot detail, and sells it as the Mini Jodie, the Small Jodie and the Jodie (Bottega Veneta). The Teen Jodie sold by Selfridges is made of lambskin in an all-over double-faced intrecciato weave, with a slouchy, sack-like shape, a knotted top handle, a zip closure and a lined interior, and measures 36 by 21 by 13 cm (Selfridges). When buying pre-owned, compare dimensions rather than size names. Look first at the knot, where wear shows and the woven strips curl more easily (SACLÀB).
